With the development and maturation of computer simulation technology, simulation technology has been applied widely to the weapon system design. By using computer-based graphic and image technology, scene simulation can reach a vivid simulation effect which create 3-D model of simulation objects or reproduce actual environment according to simulation purpose . For the impersonality and real-time characteristic, scene simulation provides an efficient analysis means for missile flight simulation and flight path programming.This missile flight simulation was realized using OpenGL based on Visual C++6.0 platform. This thesis was mainly focused on the interactive surface design technology (the interface of OpenGL and high-level program language), the 3-D object modeling, the production of special effect, the model data drive, the viewpoint transformation and the collision detection technique. The 3-D model of airplane and missile had been established and the scene simulation of landform, sky, lakes, snow, rain had been produced. Besides, the missile position and posture had been displayed by utilizing the plane Chinese character display technique. This designed system had realized visual simulation of missile flight. Thus, the posture of missile can be observed from random distance and angle.The technique of blending, anti-aliasing, atomizing and sight tracking enhanced the simulation authenticity. The display, double buffer storage and LOD improved system processing speed . The synthetic application could simultaneously satisfy the authenticity and real-time request in the missile flight simulation.
