| A lot of tests are carried out on the triaxial apparatus for unsaturated intact loess. The normal triaxial compression tests and consolidation tests are done respectively on in-site loess with different moisture contents. By analyzing of the results of the tests, ithas been shown that the stress states (confining pressure σ3) and the moisture contentconditions have great effort on strength and deformation of intact loess. In another word, the strength character of intact loess is similar to over-consolidated soil under low humidity and low confining pressure, stress-strain relationships are little harden or soften. On the contrary, stress-strain relationships are harden when high humidity or high confining pressure.And then, this paper put the constitutive model for over-consolidated soil, which is brought up by Yao Yangping, to model the behavior of intact loess. Then, it shows that this model could quantitatively describe the strength and deformation law of intact loess reasonably. Additionally, the experimental parameters of the model can be easily determined by conventional triaxial compression tests. So, it is a helpful attempt for revealing the behavior of intact loess. |
