It is a main method to attenuate unwanted vibration through preventing vibration spreading to the base and environment by isolating it. Engine mount is an isolation component, for engine vibration to the passenger compartment and base. Ideal engine mount should have different isolation performance with the different frequencies and amplitudes. Within the range of low frequency and large amplitude, engine mount should have adequate stiffness and lager damping; on the other hand, within the range of middle and high frequency, the mount is expected to have small stiffness and low damping to decrease vibration and noise transfered to the passenger compartment. A new designed hydraulic mount has two cambers filled with liquid in the rubber mount. Actuated by engine, liquid flows upward and downward through the orifice or inertia track between the two cambers and depletes vibration energy by liquid damping. Hydraulic mount has a performance of large damping in the low frequencies as well as small damping in the high frequencies. Hydraulic mount can decrease engine vibration and vibration transmissibility for the engine to the other compartment of the vehicle. As a kind of hydraulic mounts, semi-active control hydraulic mount which the ERF mount in this paper belongs to does not need active execute element that consumes large energy. Its dynamic performance can be shifted with the change of engine speed, so it's performance of decreasing and isolating vibration is boosted as well as it has many kinds of advantages. The electrorheological mount in this paper is reconstructed from the traditional passive hydraulic mount which is to utilize the rheological properties when subjected to applied electricpotential as to increase the damping force. It is very useful to attenuate unwanted vibration in low frequency. The main points in this paper as following:First, this paper introduces the history of the mount and electrorheololgical fluid, based on large amount of internal external thesis. Especially this paper expounds the apply of electrorheological fluid in automobile industry and let people believe electrorheological fluid has a bright future.Secondly, we design an electrorheological mount based on a passive hydraulic mount we have and give the expression of the flow of the ring orifice which undergoes some electric field. From this, we can know the relationship between the flow and the electric potentials which could offer some theory bases for the mechanical and math model.Last, we establish the mechanical and math model under some hypothesizes, based on which we make the model of Simulink. The computer's simulink is done after some parameters are confirmed. In this paper, as the damping will increase when subjected the electric field, so this paper pays more attention to low frequency. Besides, the intensity of the electric field and the parameters of the ring damping hole all have influences on the isolation characteristics of the mount. This paper makes some study on the changes of the isolation characteristics when the parameters change, which offer some theory foundation on how to optimize the construction of the electrorheological mount.
