| The loss of excitation faults are by far common faults to which generators are subjected. Loss of excitation, when the reactive power reservation in system is insufficient, will damage the system's stability and threat the safety of the generator self. With the growing capacity of single generator, this demands higher performance for large generator protection. So we need to research on the transient state for generator loss of excitation. Firstly the paper presents some research achievement on loss of excitation fault transient simulation in large generators. Based on above, the paper found united model of generator in the phase domain. This model can calculate generator and system in step. It eliminates generator-net entrance and predicting-correcting. Then this paper makes the simulation program. By comparing the loss of excitation protection character of several companies, the paper calculates and analyses the protection setting of loss of excitation. |
