Study On Scale Of Urban Public Space

Aim at the problems in the design of urban public supace,the thesis suggest the concept of scale. In the first chapter,the important status and meaning of scale is discussed. In the second chapter,detailed theortic locate and analysis is done to the concept of scale and theory: reviewing achievement of predecessor,considering every aspect factor,confirming the concept of scale,and analysying it in detail. Aim at every aspect factor in scale design, profound analysis is expended in the third chapter. It is not only concrete research to the frontal chapter, but also the theoretic direction to the back content. The method and principle of scale design is concluded in the fourth chapter. These method and principle have many available value because they are connected with the factorsof scale design in the third chapter. After these, two important problems are discussded in the detailed aspect of space scale design: the layer of scale and the grade of scale. The two problems make the availability of scale design deepen and suggest considering project to detailed design work. In the end,not only the conclusion is done, but also the limitation and applicability are suggested.
