Study On Post Occupency Evaluation In Urban Park

As a place which offers spaces to urban citizens and visitors to relax and recreate, urban park gives people spaces for being close to the nature and sociality. But former designs of urban parks took too much emphasizes on the aesthetics which sometimes maybe just landscape architects personal preferences and styles. They neglected requirements of users, therefore many conflicts between users and park environments. Basing on relative theories of human behavior and environment behavior, the Dissertation observed, analyzed and valued functions of Beijing Black Bamboo Park in view of users of the park. Through analysis of lots of typical spaces of the park, the dissertation told which facilities were used properly, which facilities were overused or misused, which spaces were popular with people and which spaces were abandoned by people. In addition, the dissertation summarized characters of spaces which match human outside behavior and needs. Aiming at existing and potential problems in the process of use in urban parks and people's new requirements, the dissertation put forward relative measures of reconstruction and advices on design in order to create urban park environment which makes everyone feels comfortable and convenient. Eventually, the dissertation educed some rules and principles of design and reconstruction of urban park.
