The karsts--highland areas mainly refer to those mountainous areas under the jurisdiction of counties and municipalities where fully exposed or semi-exposed carbonate rocks account for more than 30% of the total area. In the southwestern part of China the karsts- highland areas are distributed largely in the most part of Guizhou province, and some parts of Yunnan and Sichuan provinces, as well as Guangxi Autonomous Region. With the development in western region, the problem, especial the determination of bearing capacity of pile foundation, will be meet inevitably, therefore, it is necessary for its technique and economic to enhance the study on the characteristic of bearing capability of pile foundation during the pile foundation design in karsts area.First, by making use of the analytic method in mechanics, imitating a plank as the beam, arch, slab…etc. the bearing capability of pile foundation in Karsts area are dissolved.Although the local-measure is one of the most important methods for it, it is seldom taken because of the limited of financing. Based on the finite element method, the major influence factors about the magnitude or the karsts cave, carrying slab thickness and the strength of rock are discussed. According to the analysis results, of all the influence factors the most is the strength of rock around the piles. The more strengthen the rock, the stronger the bearing capability.Finial, combined with the experience of engineering, the reliability and validity of the finite method is verified. As a result the bearing capability of pile foundation are determinant.
