In order to diagnose the fault of thermodynamic system in different load , this paper sets up the steam-water distribution equation of a 300 MW condensing unit according to the short-cut method theory of thermodynamic system and calculates all the kinds of thermal economy index and the parameter target values of high-pressure heater system. It has been carried out what is the mechanism of high-pressure heater system and condenser system. The fault sample character knowledge base of the two systems has been established combined with the expert experiences and correlative literature. A method was brought forward that diagnose the fault of high-pressure heater by adopting double-deck fault mode recognition method and the two knowledge bases have been training commendably by different BP network. It was exploited what is the fault diagnosis system of the thermodynamic system of 300MW steam-turbine unit through the method of calling Matlab by means of VB. And this system has the characteristics such as quick diagnosis, friendly interface and easy operation etc.
