Power system is a complex dynamic system. Regardless of the running situation in the stable state, or in the emergency state as well as the collapse condition, its dynamic behavior all presents for both continuous tendency and discrete tendency. Therefore, power system is a classical hybrid dynamic system. To disclose the complicate mechanism of power system dynamic behaviors and to research the hybrid dynamic process of interaction between its continuous dynamic behaviors and discrete dynamic behaviors, it is necessary to build simulation software for hybrid power system. So in this paper, we mainly discussed the hybrid system theory for building power system hybrid dynamic simulation platform, researched the method for modeling of hybrid models of components in power system, analyzed hybrid dynamic simulation algorithm adapted to power system, built the structure and basic frame of hybrid dynamic simulation platform of power system embedded with hybrid algorithm. To sum up, we primarily built a simple alternating simulation platform of power system.
