There are many obstacles, counteracting each other, during the construction of long tunnel, such as various working procedures, limited construction period and incommodious operating space due to the narrow transect. Moreover, the inconstant geology decides various operation parameters applying to either drill-and-blast method or TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) method, which, in turn, enhances the difficulties.This paper systematically analyzes all the elements and their connection and counteraction of Xinjiang Qiafuqihai Bashiyi Daban tunnel, optimizes construction process, presents methods and suggestions to design a more reasonable construction organization for accelerating construction process as the engineering process achieves its success. This article, based on the successful cases national or international and the TBM construction operation, sets up an information parameter database including most of primary construction parameter, such as boring schedule, anamorphism and geology, cycle periods of various working procedures and TBM working status. This database is used to synthetically optimize tunnel TBM construction process simulation problems. The main research contents and achievements are summarized as follows:(1) Based on the characteristics of TBM construction, a hierarchic and modular modeling method is presented. The simulation model can describe tunnel construction process comprehensively and the approach to determine model parameters is provided with sensitivity evaluation.(2) Research and develop the TBM simulation software to simulate the Bashiyi Daban tunnel construction process. This software can be used to analyze the operation period and mechanical equipment coordination, in order to settle feasible construction period and monthly boring schedule. (3) Analysis on the relation between the TBM parameter and boring schedule ishelpful to promote precautions, especially on some special sections.(4) Combined with the geology information system, 3D dynamic visualization makes the construction process vividly.
