Roller Compacted Concrete Dam (RCCD) is a new type of dam, which has been developed quickly and applied extensively. Along with fast development of roller compacted concrete technique, currently the height of dam become more and more heigh. But the problem of temperature stress and temperature control in the mass concrete will be in the roller compacted concrete dam. It is great importance to reasch the temperature filed and thermal stress filed of height roller compacted concrete dam especially overflow section in construction stage and operating period. But the method of pouring and compaction by roller for high-Dams is layer by layer. If we use finite element relocating mesh method, the workload becomes bigger and bigger, time becomes longer and longer. At the same time, overflow section is so complex that the old 3-D Finite Element Relocating Mesh Program can't be used. A series of multi-subject synthetic technique research has been done in the paper, including a theoretic discussion and software system development. A set of effective theory and method to study and analyze about the question is educed. The general-used and intellectualized simulation software environment of the 3-D Finite Element Relocating Mesh Program is developed as a result of the study, which successfully makes Relocating Mesh Method be used in overflow section. The program is proved correctly comparing academic account observation information with program result. The Virtual Element Method is maked use, based on the Relocating Mesh Method and the 3-D Finite Element Method. The Relocating Mesh Method can be used on the overflow section combine the Virtual Element Method and the Relocating Mesh Method. The efficienty will be advanced, the scale will be debased, going on the premise of not debase the precision. In this paper the temperature field and thermal-creep-stress field in roller compacted concrete medium-section during construction and operation at cold region are simulated and the distribution law of them are systematically studied by an example. The result provides a academic foundation for preventing cracks on roller compacted concrete overflow section.
