| In company with the rapid development of heat metrology project of our country, heat measuring system must overstep the intrinsic traditional method, and have network communications, computer control technique and automation technology applied in the remote meter reading of intelligence community, so as to work up to the informatization and intelligentize of heating collection.To begin with, the paper presented the general information of state-of-the-art of automatic meter reading technology, and demonstrated the selection of bus and the general structure of the system, then made certain the three main components of the system; those were consumptive heat meters, concentrators and mastercontrol center.In the next place, the paper introduced the internal hardware organization and the measurement and computing method of some key parameters of the heat meter based on ultralow power dissipation MCU MSP430.Then discussed the hardware interface circuit and EMC design of RS-485 bus that connects the heat meters and the concentrator, constituted the communication protocol of the system, and analyzed the software programming.Afterward, the paper introduced the technique of wireless data communication between mastercontrol computer and concentrators. Carried out the remote control of mastercontrol computer to the concentrators via GPRS wireless network, introduced the principal and switchingin method of GPRS module DTU. Researched and developed the mastercontrol center system, primarily included the database programming and the design of the mastercontrol interface.In the end of the paper, we further discussed M-BUS, the significant meter bus in the field of heat metrology automation, and pointed out its advantages over RS-485.
