As is found in all kinds of earthquake damage at home and abroad, structures can be seriously destructed and even collapse when hit by moderate or strong earthquakes, which inevitably leads to considerable economic loss and injury and deaths. The large-scale thermal power plant, being the lifeline project, demands better aseismic quality, so a research on its structural aseismic performance is both theoretically significant and practical. This paper, based on the theoretical analysis, explores the spatial aseismic performance of frame-bents, some structural properties in the process of static nonlinear analysis, the aseismic performance of boiler truss which is affected by boiler and whine-suppressing effect in the main building of the large-scale thermal power plant, then summarizes some configuration characters in the power plant, and finally proposes a reasonable measure for strenthening.Studied in the paper are the dynamic property of spatial frame-bent structures under bi-directional earthquake action, the influence on hole structure induced by torsion, the structural story drift ratio and torsional effect, the internal force calculation of frames and bents. The structural responses to double and single components of ground motion are also compared.The static nonlinear analysis procedure of spatial frame-bent structure is introduced. The structural damage mechanism under earthquake condition is discussed, and the development process of structural internal force, lateral displacement, plastic hinge are studied.Based on numerical analysis, the paper also studies the spatial property of boiler frame that equips whine-suppressing device under transverse earthquake, including the story drift ratio, torsional effect, internal force calculation, weak story's distribution and so on. The numerical analysis results and the results calculated by simplified plane method are compared. According to the theoretical calculation, some structural properties of the thermal power plant are summarized, and some reinforcement measures are presented to these structures which are still in active time. Thus it provides a reference to reinforcement of structures of the same type.
