Abstract/Summary:
Facing the challenge of urbanization and motorization, a contribution to sustainable travel pattern should be seeked in the Metropolis. Public traffic is most likely to alleviate air pollution, road congestion, and the conservation of energy. With the establishment of the rapid public traffic which is prevailing in the urban traffic system, we not only can solve the urban traffic problem, but also can guide the city space to expand infrastructure on the base of it, and create a network of urban space compactly, prevent the urban sprawl. Eventually, the urban and suburban establish a symbiotic ultimately, inclusive relationship.Firstly, the four spatial forms of urban transit innovation in the evolution rule are discussed, and two typical models are comprised and made a choice in the paper. Based TOD, the effect of rapid public traffic in the spatial structure is analyzed, and further the experiences of foreign country are explored. The spatial structure of Qingdao may compartmentalize four main stages, and the four typical years are chosen and analyzed about the transportation factors which impact the evolution of urban spatial structure. Methods of questionnaire and survey on the spot are used in the paper and the situation of public traffic and rail traffic are learned. Based the traffic characteristics of current situation and urban development trends in Qingdao, the main transport is chosen. Then the planning rail traffic is analyzed. The effect of the rail traffic in the spatial structure of Qingdao is analyzed in the paper, especially the rail traffic NO.1 line. Through the analysis of rail transit and the urban land control, the counter-measures about the five conceptions of land zone are brought out. Finally, urban development pattern of rail transit-oriented—polycentric structure is put forward.
