Study On The Design Of Urban Landscape Lighting With Regional Culture

Since the beginning of reform and opening up, and along with the economic development, Chinese urbanization process is accelerated and urban infrastructure is also improved step by step. The perfect design in urban landscape lighting is needed since the residents' life quality is increased gradually and more activities is happened in the night. But there are some problems in our urban landscape lighting development such as starting later than other countries, fewer specialists and little experience, which can't make our urban landscape lighting construction rich and colorful in regional culture. So, the paper illustrates how to add the regional culture characteristics into our design of landscape lighting.On the base of deeply understanding of the meaning of urban landscape lighting, which is the display of landscape art in night and also is the fixture of landscape art and lighting technology, this thesis is discussing the actual problems in our urban landscape lighting construction and giving some new idea in future design.Any art creation should be based on the science technology. This paper introduces the primary theories about light in brief, the color of light and the ways of lighting in detail, which will help us to further the following research.The peculiarity of the paper is to emphasize regional culture in the design of urban landscape lighting. From the urban construction processing in near years, we can see the lighting has displayed the regional culture, especially the conception of "lighting culture" which offered by international experts support the paper's argument. Understanding the essence of urban landscape lighting, I consider the regional culture displaying be based on architectural character,the colorful lighting,the modeling lamp and the human behavior patterns etc. The regional culture includes the historical features and characteristics of the times, the author makes a statement, the famous landscape light could show his history feature by the historic district and the classic building of China and the West. At the moment, it could show the age feature on the business street and modern tall building. On the other hand, the author consider that the designer have to treat the relationship of the city characters,geographical character and the culture of city economy.The theory depends on practice. This thesis introduces the key points of regional culture in urban light-landscape design by the case of Tang Paradise Park in Xi'an.
