Study On The Inner Public Space Of High-rise Residence

As one of the most important parts of high-rise residential buildings, interior public space is not only the organizational connection within the building, but also the environment where residential space lives. Therefore it is very important to design good interior public space in the process of high-rise residential building design. But as compared to the design of private space within residential apartments and exterior public space, the interior public space design has been ignored by most Chinese architects. With the economic development, the residential building design has changed from "economic-oriented" to "comfort-oriented". People are not satisfied with the old-fashioned interior public-space design for high rise residential buildings.Based on the basic architecture theory, this thesis analyzed several critical problems for public space in high-rise residential buildings. This article builds on a large amount of references and also my own investigation. Depending on the residents' demand for interior public space, I investigated the design idea and the development trend of interior public space design.Given the residents' lost feeling in high-rise buildings, the last chapter discusses the design of public communication space in high-rise residential building. Although it is hard to establish such design for communication space, I hope, this will shed new lights on future design.
