The thesis has been done on the basis of"hydraulic mechanics drive research Institute of Jilin University and Hong Yu factory in Chongqing develop the torque converter", have calculated and analyzed the flow field of the torque converter with the commerce software Unigraphics,GAMBIT and FLUENT, the main conclusions are obtained as follows:1. Compare calculation results and the experiment results, it shows that the computational flow analysis is accurate. The performance of the torque converter researched by the thesis is excellent, the efficiency is good, and it can be able to using in reality.2.Off flow, reverse flow and circulation appear in the pump passage, the phenomena is mainly caused by the impact of the flow to the non-working face on the pump inlet, it will expand the flow force loss.3. In the turbine passage, the inlet bends a lot, off flow is happened easily, the flow passage curvature is big, and the flow field characteristic is complex.4. The flow passage of stator is short and the angle change largely, so it can change the direction of the flow velocity to increase momentum moment to the circumrotate axle; the flow field also is complex. The strike loss is serious in the flow force loss of the stator.The computational flow analysis can find out the work principle of the torque converter in the further, it is good for the design of the torque converter, and at the same time it shows that CFD is a powerful tool for the optimal design.
