It is significant to do highway side slope protection engineering well, which influences the safety and appearance of the road. However, there is otherness in integrative protection schemes in different zone for some reasons, such as deficiencies in theory research, design at discretion as well as diversity in geography, climate and engineering construction scale internal and external. It is imperative under the situation to carry out comprehensive and systemtic studies on a good many highway terrene side slope protection problems in JiLin, furthermore, several applied and effective side slope protection technique scenarios should be obtained. It stares us in the face to bring forward optimal defence scheme for highway side slope in JiLin. Based on sufficient investigation and research, the thesis investigates and analyzes the problems existing in highways located in seasonal freeze region combines with traditional defence methods, researches into the corrasion mechanism of terrene slope comprehensively. The productions complement internal investigations on this aspect, so it is significant to a certain extent.Combined with the natural geography conditions and engineering characteristic of JiLin province emphatically, this paper analyzes the damage kinds of roadbed side slope and studies the corrasion mechanism. Several appropriate defence measures are presented. It also implements optimization design to the side slope of support project based-on the side slope protection actuality of JiLin province with the purpose of exerting every functions of highway side slope defence furthest, such as preventing water and soil from running off, avoiding frost heaving and frost hawing, virescence and beautification of the road, improving the stability of the roadbed, reducing subsequent maintenance cost and prolonging the service life of the highway.Several aspects are researched primarily in this paper:1) Analysis and investigation on terrene side slope damage mechanism of highways in JiLin. The process and the mechanism that it comes into being of different corrosion forms will be defined;2) Synthetical appraisement of side slope defence schemes for highways in JiLin.The author tries to analyze the existing problems thoroughly and find out solutions furthest.A waterpower scour experimentation either qualitative or quantitative, with high-angle and different artificial side slope defence models indoor is adopted. After optimization design, twenty-six operating conditions have been conducted. Rainfall intensity is conducted before every model simulation experimentation in door. During the runoff scour experimentation, the water is supplied by sluice pool together with water pump , the flux is controlled by valve and the value is demarcated according to water meter. Artificial rainfall is adopted to simulate the scouring and infiltration action of natural rainfall on highway side slope. A qualitative as well as quantitative method is introduced to observe the whole process of waterpower erosion to target side slope (includes all sorts of defence measures).The erosion resist capability of different protection measures is evaluated and analyzed. The analysis and summary of experimentation results lays the foundation for ascertaining defence measures and side slope gradient fitted for different terrene side slopes ultimately.Scour tests of grass planting side slope, earthwork three-dimensional meshwork protective slope, earthwork section chamber protective slope and it's contrastive nude slope are examined emphatically. In order to insure the experimentation all right, the influences of a great diversity of soils, slope gradient and protection forms are taken into account fully. Some measures are adopted to prevent current seeped through slope surface form taking place concentrative contact scour along bottom solid borderline. The integer frame of the model is made of bricks. On the brick slope, different earth of prescriptive thickness is stuffed with fixed slope ratio and different side slope defence types are laid in term of engineering practice in order to insure the experiment result haspractical engineering significance. For excavation roadbed model, water is replenished direct from slope top. The raining progress is simulated indoor in a manner of perpendicularly drenching by high voltage shower nozzle in the course of experimentation.This paper analyzes and researches the failure mechanism of highways in JiLin, four kinds of side slope corrasion breakage and process. Some conclusions can be drawn from observation on the spot and simulated experimentation indoor:1) Waterpower scour is the leading cause of highway slope corrosion breakage, thereinto, the power of rainfall beating and spattering is limited and channel erosion plays a dominating role.2) The author investigates the rule of side slope waterpower scour and comes to a conclusion: the primary cause of serious highway terrene slope scour problem is that the common highway slope gradient is close to the critical scour gradient.3) The scour resist capability of different soils and different protection forms is obtained qualitatively, the process of scouring is observed and described also according to the experimentation result of artificial rainfall scouring slope model in door. In addition, the rule of side slope soil being seeped is observed and analyzed, the slope stability before,during and after raining is analyzed and calculated quantitatively, the effect degree on slope surface stability of different defence methods is educed. In the end, a propositional value of side slope gradient under different defence types is presented.There are a good many problems on side slope protection of high-grade highways all the same in northeast seasonal freeze regions because it possesses particular nature climate characteristic and the fact is much accounted of the national highway management department Comprehensive and systemic theory researches on side slope protection of high-grade highways are still absent despite the a good deal attention from highway design and construction personnel. Accordingly,the application prospect of production brought forward by this thesis will be promising.
