In this paper, analyze and research many factors which will affect the construction of Yong-river Bridge including local weather, water character, geology, earthquake, ship transportation, construction material and transportation conditions etc and consider the highway function and road grade and traffic capability combined with landform, river, geology of river bed, requirements of open traffic, flood-resistance of riverbank, and environment effect. On the base of this consideration, select the detailed bridge location and design the bridge style.At the same time, considering the city plan, the connection way of two-side bank combined with the research results, optimize the layout of axes of bridge; determine the controlled frusta location and the stride setup. Compare three cable-stayed bridge schemes including rib-board girder with joint-tower and four-plane, box girder with joint-tower and four-plane and c. Calculate and design the three structures considering the overall layout, structure analysis (including static analysis, bridge tower calculation, local stress calculation of girder, foundation calculation and vibration analysis), construction scheme. And optimize the design combined the safety degree, mechanical rationality and reliability.The results show that the bridge style of steel-box girder with a whole two-plane has many strongpoint including light structure, reasonable stress performance, slinky style, construction convenience, cost-effective etc.
