The Observation Of The Development Of Contemporary Chinese Architecture Through Contemporary Chinese Architectural Journals

Chinese Architecture has reached its fast developing period since 1980. Originally, the theory of this subject mainly focused on simple summary and introduction of international theory, whereas, it has been oriented to multi angles, multi subjects, comprehensive research, and native architecture system nowadays. Therefore, it is of great practical importance to look at the development of architecture of this period.Because the professional journals can reflect the development of architectural theory and practice well, this thesis borrows the research means of philological metrology, catalogue, communication and other intelligence subjects. This thesis has its research subject on Architectural journals, and explores the literature external and contents' features through classified statistics. Through this, the paper states the developing trend of China's contemporary architecture .For the research of "literature external feature's" part, the thesis does the statistics of information change. Through this statistical analysis, the following information are found out: the contents of the four kinds of statistical architectural journals are becoming more versatile. The features of the catalogue of the four kinds of journals shows that China architecture is experiencing a " stagnant-active " period since the 1980, and 1990s is a turning point.For the research for "literature contents' features" part, the thesis analysis the development of five topics: "house", "architectural education", "communication", "architectural theory and critique", "architect". The paper also proved that China's architecture is developing further since the 1980 and the 1990s is the turning point.Then ,the thesis analysis the function of the architectural journals as a kind of social organization in pushing the development of the china architecture.
