In this paper, the elementary knowledge of Diagnosis in Rotating Machine Fault is introduced and the time frequency analysis methods which are commonly used are also introduced, the detailed research analyze one kind of new time-frequency analysis method -Hilbert - Huang Transformation (HHT), in view of shortcomings of cubic spline interpolation, the improvement algorithm is proposed, and is applied Hilbert-Huang Transform to rotating machinery fault diagnosis. From simulation and experiment aspects show the superiority of Hilbert-Huang Transformation in the vibration signal time -frequency analysis.Based on the analysis of the theory, we build an experiment system at the base of rotor kit, passing through the massive experiments, obtain signals of several typical faults. The experimental data is processed by the Hilbert-Huang Transform, obtain the signal time-frequency characteristic,provide benefit experience for later research.
