Composite foundation has been in great use these years, and it has been used under tall buildings in some areas. Great social and economic benefit has been gained. There are three more types of composite foundation. they are type of pile top is in contact with cap, we call it traditional pile, the type of pile top is separated from foundation by a layer of sand or gravel cushion and the type of pile top is hole between the piles and cap. The main work of this experiment is to research the behavior of composite foundation and traditional pile under vertical load , By changing factors such as the pile length, the distance between pile. And to research the effect of such factors on the ratio of load shared by pile to soil and settlement . To use numeric photo analysis method, and such work as follows has been done:Based on the experiments we made a study. Total 8 groups of test have been conducted, and a comprehensive measurement had been taken on the pile head, pile body. Then, the effects of different length and distance of piles, pile body and the top pile under vertical load are analyzed by using 3D Finite Element Method. Finally, the interaction mechanism of the Composite foundation under vertical load is disclosed.Through the study, it can be found that the variation of pile length has a significant effect on the ratio of load shared by pile to soil and settlement. The ratio of load of pile becomes more with the increasing of the length of pile. The variation of distance between piles can also affect the the ratio of load between pile and soil. Under the same vertical load, the ratio of load the pile shared becomes less when the distance of the piles increases.
