Earth-rock dam is an old type of dam, and it is the highest dam in the world. It has the advantage of easy to construction, lower cost and the capability to fit for complex geologic setting, and these make it to the dominant type of dam. In the old days, engineers only study the seepage and stabilization of the dam, but nowadays, the stress and displacement compute becoming necessary with the height increasing of dam.Based on the studying background , this article realizes Duncan-Chang E ?μmodel in ANSYS and simulating constitutive process of the dam to compute the stress and strain of earth-rock dam, through parameter design language of ANSYS,after analysing the subarea of the dam and the choice of each subarea , choosing the dengken-zhang as the computer model of earth-rock dam.The stress and strain of xieka dam is computered with this procedure; the result indicates that the nonlinear and layering construction of the dam is reflected well.The diaphragm wall in dams is a important measure in embankment of the earth-rock dam, because the modules of the diaphragm wall in dams is big generally, the asymmetry deformation is produced easily between the diaphragm wall in dams and overburdened layer.because of the asymmetry deformation, the additional stress is produced, which result in the stress of the top of diaphragm wall in dams increase. Meanwhile, because of the asymmetry deformation, the negative friction is produced, which result in the vertical stress of the diaphragm wall in dams increase. Based on above these, the additional stress and negative friction will be studied in the article from the asymmetry deformation angle.According to the asymmetry deformation, a kind of method is advanced which can estimate the additional stress easily and quickly. Its way of thinking is that computer the asymmetry deformationΔs making use of first the layering total method, build the eqution based on the slope of the dam flat though the existence of diaphragm wall in dams , then calculate the additional load F and finally get the additional stressσf.The close diaphragm wall in dams and the hanging diaphragm wall in dams are analysised using the ANSYS. This arctical discusses the stress character of the diaphragmwall in dams with the different modules ratio between the diaphragm wall in dams and overburdened layer.It consist of the distributing law of the negative friction ,the relationship between negative friction and the relative deformation,the changement of the netual point,the changment of the vertical stress .
