Audio-Visual Data Compression Technology Research And Application In Black Box Of Navy Ship

Black Box of Navy Ship is intelligent equipment that is used for record of important information of navigate state. It not only provides impersonal data for investigation and also for the early discovery of balefulness. In order to store as much audio-visual information as possible in limited memory space is very useful.With the background of navy application, based on Intel XScale Archetecture and Linux embedded operation system, I finish the system design of black box of navy ship. Refer to the latest video codec standard; we use hybrid coding method to implement video compression with high compression ratio. In consideration of the requirement of the special system, we use improved motion estimation and early mode selection, adaptive quantifying step and skip frame method to improve the performance of the system greatly. Meantime, we choose parametric audio coding algorithm for speech compression.
