Aiming at the realization of load harmonic current suppression and reactive current compensation, this dissertation conducts a thorough analysis of shunt active power filter (APF) and associated problems and puts forward a design of shunt active power filter based on DSP control, with special attention on the control strategy and hardware design.As one of the most important factors to develop the active power filter, the technology of reactive and harmonic current detection will be analyzed first in great detail. Real time Fourier analysis is introduced on the basis of traditional Fourier analysis. APF uses a slippage iterative calculation method to suit DSP control system. To improve the efficiency of compensation, the dissertation brings forward a control strategy of minimizing the composite error of source current based on deadbeat control. The simulation about APF algorithm and main circuit is done with MATLAB to validate the rationality and practicability of APF.According to the actual compensation, the dissertation establishes the general control object and frame of the system. It also qualifies the work condition and applicable loads of APF through analyzing the compensation principle and characteristic. A design of control system selecting DSP as the control core and its hardware design and software flow are introduced in detail.Power and driver circuits are also studied in this dissertation. The experimentation system is installed and debugged after the simulation about APF. The results validate the method of reactive and harmonic current detection and control strategy in the dissertation, and also meet the design requirement of APF.
