Nowadays the Hydraulic Power Steering System is commonly used in cars. The steering system have some advantageous, such as hardiness, sensibility and security. Besides, it still has low noise, light pollution and smooth function. The modeling method and dynamic characteristic of a widely used hydraulic power steering system is studied in this dissertation. And on the basis of simulation the reason of fault is analyzed in steering system.Firstly according to the characteristic of Hydraulic Power Steering System, based on the theory of multi-body dynamics, the method of modeling ,including rigid body and flexible body, as well as hydro-mechanical system ,carrying out the integrate simulation is studied. Secondly build the complex rigid-flexible and hydro-mechanical model by the software of ADAMS, ANSYS and PRO-E. This model takes the effect of the steering gear and rack's deformation and the dynamic characteristic of hydraulic system into account on the basis of common steering system. From the above theory, the simulation of steering system and analysis of flexible body's deformation are done .Then put the outcome into the optimal design.
