While the dual-front axle steering system of the heavy trucks is widely used, it becomes more and more important to study and analyze its kinematics performances. This paper founds a model for this machine by using the multiple-plane projection method, based on the structure of the steering system and the experiences from others. An optimization objective function with 12 parameters was made, based on the theory of optimization. Using the software MATLAB and C++ Language programs, the optimized results of these parameters can be obtained. The application of the theory of multi-rigid-body to the simulation is discussed in this paper. A space model of the dual-front axle system is founded and analyzed by the multi-rigid-body simulation software ADAMS. By using the Design Study and Optimization function of the ADAMS software, the effects of these parameters are analyzed and the optimized results, which are better than that of MATLAB and C++, are obtained. In this paper, the ADAMS and MATLAB are used in the research work successfully.
