In this paper, the theory of artificial freezing method and the condition of research and application at home and abroad are presented. The advantage and disadvantage of freezing method construction are introduced.This paper introduces the artificial frozen earth's mechanics parameters and property. Through the artificial freezing earth simulation test, the physical and mechanic variation laws of the freezing structure are gained. The principle and method of designing elaborated on the frozen soil wall and the freezing parameters are stated.The emphasis of the paper is the designing proposal of the freezing method by the case of a metro subway. The frozen soil wall's strength and deformation are tested by the finite element method to assure the project's safety margin. At the same time, some questions, difficulties, technical points, the measures of quality assurance during the course of the freezing construction are expounded. The paper discusses the environmental effect caused by the freezing method and the countermeasures in different construction phase briefly. The project is successful in safety and social efficiency. That experience can be referred to by other similar constructions.Information construction in freezing method is also discussed in the thesis. The key point of information construction is the acquirement of feed back information. Only when the process of the construction is monitored regularly and timely can information on temperature and deformation be fed back without delay. The construction solution includes timely adjustment of excavation, supporting and slip-casting. Through the solution mentioned above the freezing construction will be more economical, safe and reliable.
