Research on remote collaborative testing is the forward research field of international Civil Engineering academia, which aim is to construct a kind of networked resource, and shared-use the resource geographically distributed, then establish the next generation testing research system. In America, NEES program was being construct in 2001; In Europe,"European Network for Seismic Risk Mitigation"is being founded; In Japan, They build the biggest shaking table in the word and finished a networked pseudo-dynamic testing; In Taiwan, NCREE have found a platform which named Internet-based Simulations for Earthquake Engineering(ISEE); In China, a emphasized project supported by NSFC which named"collaborative testing method and system for pseudo-dynamic earthquake simulation of modern structure"was being startup in 2004, the member includes Hunan University, Harbin institute of technology and Tsinghua University. As a subproject of this project, based on the research environment have been established, The main research works were outlined as following:Firstly, the state of the remote collaborative testing in home and abroad was summarized.Secondly, NetSLab, a remote collaborative structural testing platform, were expound, According to the characteristic of the testing equipment and its control system in HIT MSTC, we explore the interface methods between NetSLab and testing equipment. The characteristics of each method were analyzed. Thirdly, based on the method of MTS VBCOM interface program acquire input and output control signals, connection between MTS VBCOM interface program and the testing equipment in laboratory of HIT MSTC was established under Visual Basic 6.0 (English Version) Program, Simultaneously, a simple program (Ramp program) was developed further. Finally, we construct a Master-Slaver network; then a validate testing of a steel column based on MTS VBCOM interface program (Ramp program) was completed in area of laboratory. Which testify the feasibility of remote collaboration testing.
