Cruise missile is a kind of high technology guidance weapon with high precision, long distance and powerful execution. The control system is the most important part of it. This paper aims to study on control methods of pitch channel of cruise missile. A flight control system of a cruise missile was built up in this thesis, variable structure control (VSC) and fuzzy control (FC) methods are applied to the control system of missile, then the attitude controller is designed. The main contents of this paper are listed as follows:Firstly, the dynamical model of missile is built up. On the foundation of the kinematics and dynamics analysis, the flight trajectory mathematical model of the missile is erected. Then a linear light-disturbed minor-cycled movement model and the transitional function models are gotten through. Further, a brief analysis of characters of the cruise missile's pitch channel is given.Secondly, a variable structure controller of pitch channel of cruise missile is designed. As the dynamics characteristics of the cruise missile would change along with the movement of the flight altitude, speed and circumstance, the parameter of the missile body is time variable, the common kind of linear control method is difficult to suit the object. By selecting proper switching function, reaching law and designing a sliding mode variable structure control law, a new method based on VSC is applied to design the controller. The results of simulation in the environment of Matlab show that the controller has excellent robustness to the system uncertainties and the external disturbance, perfect dynamic performance, and has no obvious chattering phenomenon.Finally, a fuzzy controller of pitch channel of cruise missile is designed. It is difficult to build a mathematical model of the missile, so the fuzzy controller is designed by selecting proper membership functions and setting up a table of fuzzy control. The results of simulation in the environment of Matlab show that the controller based on FC has good stable precision. It can keep the preferable effect at the circumstance of small disturbance or short circuit fault and improve the dynamic characteristic and the stability of the system.
