Based on the previous research and the analysis on the existing problem, the article takes a thorough study on the topic about the perfection and combination of capacitor and reactor regarding the problems about the harmonic wave and the restriction thereto which is highly focused during the design and safety operation of the parallel capacitive compensator.Starting from fully playing the comprehensive effect of the reactive compensation and harmonic wave restriction of the parallel capacitor, the article seeks the best combination mode with the minimized capacitor amount of series reactors in each capacitor circuit as target function, and the voltage wave distortion complying with the national standards, the operation voltage and current of the capacitor according to the safety requirement, as well as the satisfaction of the power coefficient as restrictions.With the technical and economic analysis on actual samples, the article explains various optional combination modes to verify that the combination mode with minimized capacitor amount of series reactors is basically the best. Through the analysis on the actual projects in the power system, the article also has accumulated experiences and lessons which can be referred to as the basis of engineering design.
