The cement soil is a reinforced body with a degree of strength and endurance, which forms by a series physical and chemical reaction through mixing cement into soil compulsorily. As reinforced by cement, the soil's physical and mechanical properties could be improved much better. Meanwhile, the cement soil is economical, applicable and convenient to construct and it has many other merits. Hence, it applies far more in areas of base and slop stabilization, curtain for cutting off water, deep foundation ditch support structure and other projects. To the main question of weak mechanics quality of cement soil, this paper considered the glass fiber's high tensile strength and low extensibility, explored the way to improve its strength by means of mixing the glass fiber into cement soil. On the base of summarized some major methods to strengthen cement soil at present, through 200 groups of cement soil samples mixed with different content of glass fiber, the author contrasted strength, modulus, stress-strain relationship and permeability between cement soil mixed with or without glass fiber. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of glass fiber reinforced cement soil and its mechanism of reinforcement were explored. At last, some important factors to strength when using glass fiber to reinforce cement soil were given. The main contributions are as follows:1,The tests of compressive strength and tensile strength demonstrate that, with glass fiber mixed in, the compressive strength and tensile strength of different age cement soil were enhanced effectively. The reinforcement effect was obvious. Besides that, the relationship between compressive strength and age, compressive strength and tensile strength were obtained respectively.2,According to the results of triaxial compression test, the relationship of cement soil mixed with or without glass fiber concerning stress and strain in different ages and confining pressures was analyzed. Meanwhile, some parameters of cement soil mixed with glass fiber, such as shearing strength parameter, modulus of deformation and relationship between compression strength and deformation modulus were obtained.3,According to the results of permeability test of cement soil mixed with glass fiber, it's permeability was higher than cement soil without glass fiber mixed in. But they were both in 10-9cm·s-1 order of magnitude.4,From the point of reinforced soil mechanics and combined with alkali resistance of glass fiber in cement soil, the author explored the mechanics of glass fiber reinforcing cement soil.
