In order to study the mechanical characteristic and the capacity of reinforced masonry wall,9 walls were tested under out of plane eccentric load.Based on the test,some systemic research work was made.1) Experimental research on the compressive strength behavior of grouted maonry.Based on the 3hollow concrete blocks and 3 specimens test,axial compressive behavior and capacity of grouted masonry are obtained,the main factors affecting the compressive capacity are researched,and load-bearing capacity formula of reinforced masonry is confirmed and the result got good match with the test.2) Experimental research on the capacity of reinforced masonry walls under out of plane eccentric load.Based on the test of 9 different height and eccentricity specimens, failure model of reinforced masonry walls has been analyzed.Based on the experimental data,the mechanical characteristic of hollow concrete blocks and steels were also discussed. A series of characters are summarized.3) Theoretical analysis of the capacity of reinforced masonry walls under out of plane eccentric load.The process analysis of section strength was made with stripes method and the method based on the theory of reinforced concrete was also made.The results were compared with experimental data.The capacities of specimens were compared with that calculated from Code for Design of Masonry Structure.The result showed that the simplified method on the code is conservative. Based on the experimental data, the reasonable formula is put forward.In the finality, the problems requiring further studies are discussed.
