The veracity and objectivity of the existing highway bridge assessment are depended on the weight of the bridge components. Taking Shaximiao Jialingjiang Bridge, which locates at ChongQing to HeChuan Expressway, as the example during the study. Investigation for deciding the detail components weights and the assessment for the technical grade of this bridge are carried out in this paper. Following four parts are discussed in this paper:Firstly, a specific assessing model for cable-stayed bridge is established based on Uncertain Analytic Hierarchy Process theory (UAHP); then the experts' decision on the bridge's detail component was presented by an interval number which formed the judgment matrix. Then using Interval Eigenvalue Method (IEM), the weight was obtained. Secondly, the group decision making method is adopted in this paper for avoiding the possible assessing inconsistent caused by individual expert, and expert reliabilities of their judgment can be figured out. Therefore, combined with those reliabilities of each expert, the weighting of the bridge's detail components can be made by using the Collected Value Statistic & Center of Gravity Decision method. Finally, a general assessment for the technical grade of highway bridge is carried out and in the process of this assessment, the variable weights synthesis assessing method to reveal certain fatal damages of certain components is also used in this paper. The assessment result shows that the research method proposed by this paper is feasible.
