Now, in the shipyard, the line heating a very special technology is being broadly applied to produce curled-surface steel plate of ship structure. But during the shipyard's practical processing of ship plate forming use oxy-acetylene as heating source, we found that there are so many problems and limitations which are difficult to be solved. With the rapid development of ship production, the traditional line heating technology is becoming the bottleneck in the automatic produce processing of shipbuilding. According to all the reasons listed above, seeking for a new ways to improve the efficiency of the line heating is been putting forward in the naval architectural procedure. Based on such an engineering background, this subject is aimed at exploring a new practical ways to apply induction heating a high efficiency economical source to the forming process of the curled-surface steel plate of shipbuilding. In this paper, a lot of research works in theoretic study, numerical simulation and experiments by electromagnetic induction heating were did, the main contents are summarized as follows:1. According to the distribution law of the line heating practical temperature field, design the inductor by experiential methods.2.The electromagnetic induction heating process model was set up by finite element method, and find out the distribution law of the plate's partial temperature field through the simulation of electromagnetic induction heating process by several kinds of combination of heating parameters.3.According to the numerical simulation result of the temperature, modified the parameters of inductor shape, optimized the inductor design.4.According to the finite element method, set up the thermal elasto-plastic deformation mode of the induction heating steel plate by numerical simulation using different methods under different combination of heating parameters. This subject is aimed as exploring the deformation law of the steel plate.5.Based on summarize the previous results, pointed out the direction of research work in the future.
