Nowadays, most of the buses adopt postposition engine and manual mechanical transmission or parallel communication between Shifting Handle and Execution Machine. Drivers have to manipulate the start, gearshift and stop repeatedly. Manual mechanical transmission makes the drivers become tired easily and Parallel communication causes more accident. In view of this, the Manual Transmission Electronic Pneumatic Shift Control System and Manipulation Machine is developed. Transmission between Shifting Handle and Execution Machine adopts the CAN-bus which reduces drivers' tiredness caused by manual mechanical transmission. It also reduces malfunction and cost since fewer signal wires are used. The technology refitted from original manual mechanical transmission is prone to be accepted by manufacturers since it needs fewer alteration cost for the equipment. Therefore, this technology has a big market in current domestic bus system.This thesis depicts the history, present situation and development orientation of the transmission system firstly. Then it introduces the three parts of manipulation machine: components, action theory and action process. The following chapter explicates the hardware circuit which includes chip choosing, chip explaining and electric connecting. In addition to these contents, it introduces the function of circuit such as collecting signal of speed and engine rotation, displaying code of shift position or wrong operation. The buzzer alarms if position of Shifting Handle and Execution Machine are not coincident, operates wrongly, clutch signal is always high or shifts without clutch signal. The thesis also introduces the knowledge relative to CAN-bus such as the development course, characteristic, communication protocol, communication theory, work-mode choosing, message composing, filter choosing, checkout ect. The software design includes MCU initializing after power start, message transmitting and receiving. The last part is about anti-jamming and reliability design for the complicated environment when bus drives.
