Permanent magnet synchronous motors(PMSM) are widely used in industrial drives due to their simple structure, high efficiency and high factor. Speed control system of PMSM based on vector control has owed an important position where has seriously requirement for celerity and precision. At the same time, PMSM is a nonlinear, structure varying and multiple states object. The precise speed control of PMSM is a more complicated problem due to the multi-input multi-output nature of the motor and the significant nonlinear coupling among its phase winding currents and the rotor velocity. To satisfy the high performance, adaptive control and intelligence fuzzy control has been introduced widely.Firstly, the controlling characteristics and working principles of PMSM are analyzed, and the PMSM precision mathematical models are established based on the dq reference coordinates by strict analysis and calculation. The PMSM vector control system is studied by simulation to verify the validity of the model. Secondly, based on the mathematical model, the traditional indirect model reference adaptive control and the advanced fuzzy adaptive control method of PMSM are studied. The fuzzy model reference adaptive control method uses the fuzzy basis function expansion to represent the unknown parameters and change the identification problem from identifying the original unknown parameters to identifying the coefficients of fuzzy basis function expansion. The stability and convergence properties of the controller are ensured. The simulation results show the fuzzy adaptive speed controller has more high performance than the traditional indirect model reference adaptive controller and the track of parameters is also fast and exactness. Based on dSPACE, the PMSM speed control system real-time experimental platform has been established to testify the fuzzy adaptive strategies. The experiment results are according with the theory analysis.
