The Air Traffic Control(ATC) system has to meet the requirements of high real time ability as well as high reliability, and also the service provided must not be interrupted. Based on the features of ATC system and work experience in the WiseSoft Ltd. in Sichuan University, the author has done a lot of researches on some key technologies to promote the reliability of ATC system. The work is described as following:1. Introduce some basic theories on reliabilityWe introduced the definition and measurement of reliability, as well as its indicators and parameters. Also, we introduced the method and procedure for analyzing and designing the reliability. We analyze 3 kinds of important technologies of it, especially the tolerance technology.2. Build and analyze the reliability model in ATC systemTo meet the requirements of ATC system, some work modes, such as normal working mode, whole system mode and urgency mode, have been designed. The key parts of system were designed to be redundant, DARD(direct access radar data) system was designed to be the final safeguard for the kernel. We get the reliability model of ATC system based on the reliability theory, and then gives a reliability evaluation of the system's basic units and 3 work modes.
