Because of getting material easy and relatively simple foundation, earth rock dam is built mostly in China. But there are a great of problems on this type of dam. Especially many earth rock dam are constructed in 1960s. Because of some problems of designing and machine of construction and so on, some earth rock dams and their foundation have much diseases during many yeas. Then its normally use and benefit are influenced. According to status of XIAOFENG reservoir in FANGCHENGGANG, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, using numerical value analysis theory and technique of dam construction, reference to analysis result and effect, this paper analyzes its diseases particularly and put forward a new reinforcement method.The main work this paper do are these like below:(1) this paper reviewed and summarized the development and actuality of earth rock dam in China, induced the variety of earth rock dam's disease and the measure of judge etc.(2) The commonly used technology and method in rockfill dam's strengthen was summarized and analyses their good and bad quality.(3) The Duncan E-v model was adopted to analyses unstrengthened dam's stress and strain in different case and estimate dam's stabilization. Reference to result of analysis, this paper put forward potentially important strengthened region.(4) According to problems of XINGFENG reservoir about seepage, this paper simulate potential seepage path by using finite element method. This analysis result contributes to settle seepage problem absolutely.(5) After many reinforcement, seepage problems can not be solved effectively. After analyzing different strengthen method, this paper brings forward a new method and is feasible in theory by analyzing.
