The traditional Raw-soil structure has not generally provided fortification against earthquakes. The building materials is low in intensity and results in poor structural integrity. There is no corresponding standard to standardize when building. So the ability to resist earthquake disaster is relatively bad.In this paper, the types and building habits of the Raw-soil structure are investigated, followed by the elaboration of the advantages and disadvantages of such buildings. The earthquake damages that such buildings undergo are described. The construction craft of Raw-soil structure are described. Some problems concerning traditional building habits are discussed and some improving measures are suggested. Experimental studies on the physical properties and mechanics behavior of the wall material on Raw-soil structure. The influential factors to the properties of the wall material on Raw-soil structure are analyzed and the conclusions that straw, lime and other material can improve wall material properties are gained. Experimental studies are performed on the bearing performance of adobe block and adobe masonry that belongs to raw-soil structure. Experiments are performed on the flexural strengths, shear strengths and three directions compressive strengths of adobe block to gain its varies strengths. And axial force is applied to adobe masonry specimen, which are laid by varies marshaling way, to study their axial compression performance and failure forms. Then comparisons of bearing performance are made between adobe masonry and brickwork, the influential factors to the bearing performance and deformation performance of adobe masonry are analyzed. The mechanical behavior and anti-seismic behavior of raw-soil structure with rammed earth wall and such structure with adobe brick wall are studied. Three pieces of specimen on rammed earth wall and one piece of specimen on adobe brick wall are designed. Vertical loading and low cycle reversed horizontal loading are carried out on specimen aimed to study the failure process, failure mode, hysteretic curve and skeleton curve feature. The horizontal bearing capacity and deformation capacity of the wall also are studied. The actions of structural column and loop beam and the effect of admixture on the mechanical behavior of the wall are analyzed by the contrast experimental. The influence factors of anti-seismic behavior on such wall are pointed out. Formulas for calculating the shear bearing capacity of rammed earth wall and adobe brick wall are given. Two analysis modes for the Raw-soil structure with and without construction measure were set up in order to compare and analyze the construction costs, and the results show that the increased construction costs with construction measure can be accepted by peasantry. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Village and town building, Raw-soil structure, Construction craft, Seismic behavior, Experimental study, Cost analysis | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
