Under the alternate loading, accruing flaw in metal structure is one of faults that happen in metal structure frequently. As the effect of alternate loading, the flaw in the metal structure could develop continuously, and at the beginning, the fatigue flaw is very thin, therefore in this case, detecting flaw seems to be very difficult. As a dynamic non-destructive testing technique, Acoustic emission (AE) signal needs to be acquired under the loading, and it is sensitive to the fault. The fault as small as micron could be detected by AE technique; its sensitive degree is higher than other methods. Therefore the AE technique becomes one of the main methods that could be applied to detect material fatigue damage recently. The power spectral estimation is one of the methods that can obtain very useful information from acoustic emission inspection data. In this paper, acoustic emission signal is processed by the power spectral estimate at first. The results show the classical spectral analysis based FFT is not suitable for...
