Non-destructive and mini-destructive strength checking approaches are widely applied in concrete strength assessment. The Coupled Ultrasonic-Resilience Concrete Strength Checking (CURCOSC) method is generally accepted because of its quickness and accurate. However, the local strength curves have to be setup for the rational adjustment of concrete strength. So, based on the common ingredients of concrete in Kaifeng, Henan Province, such as aggregate and sand, two types of concrete are chosen as specimens: one is the pumped concrete and the other is the non-pumped concrete. Dozens of specimens are made in several strength and age groups. The CURCOSC method is firstly applied to the specimens; then, the load bearing capacity tests are carried out until the specimens are destroyed completely. Finally, the least square principle is used to set up the locally strength curve for CURCOSC method. For the purpose of promotion of the suggested curve, some practical strength assessment projects are carried out, which show that the suggested curves are more accurate than that recommended ones in the National Code.
