Along with the acceleration development of large-scale hydroelectric project, various significant geological problem also comes out. The dangerous rock falling is one of the main geology disaster types of high-steep slope in mountainous area, and it is also a hot and difficult spot in the geological disaster studies. This paper take the project of dangerous rock investigation and processing research at Jinping I hydroelectric station as a backing, study on the origin mechanism and the stability of dangerous rocks. The main production is as follows:(1) By study on the location engineering geology conditions of Jinping I hydroelectric station, based on project investigation, find out the relationship between the type, origin mechanism, growth mechanism of dangerous rocks and the dangerous rocks growth character.(2) Give a qualitative evaluate to the stability of dangerous rocks interested, Divide all the dangerous rock into three grades: I, II and III.(3) Based on studies upon, According to various kind of distortion and destruction sign by investigation on the spot, conclude 6 types of the dangerous rock, Build the geological model to explain the mechanism of genesis and destruction.(4 )Using the Discontinuous deformation analysis (DDA) method, simulate the two most familiar type dangerous rock, validate the mechanism of destruction and the stability of them. Point out the relationship between connectivity, geometry, parameter C and the stability. Set up a formula to calculate the stability coefficient for haning-falling dangerous rock. By analyzing the sensitivity of the parameters of brick-building dangerous rock, figure out that the parameter R is the most close to the stability. And according to that above, point out that the best timbering method is grouting or anchorage bar etc. Enhance the integrality of dangerous rock mass.(5) By the quantitative analysis of the dangerous rock, refers to the experience and standard of Three Gorges reservoir district and Chongqing city, estimate the stability of dangerous rocks, Provides the practical basis for the suggestion measure.
