In this paper, the methods of reliability and maintainability index verification for weapon system with small sample size are studied, which is under the ground of the project named reliability and maintainability index verification method based on multi-source prior information. The purpose of this paper is to make full use of multi-source prior information about military weapon to verify index of reliability and maintainability with small sample size of locale test and non-descending of index verification results. The central works of this paper are followed:The common expression forms of expert information and the method of using max entropy and optimization method to make prior distribution of expert information are presented. The method of using history test datum to make prior distribution and D—S evidence fusion theory are discussed. Present to use Sequential Posterior Odd Test, which can be abbreviated SPOT, to verify reliability and maintainability index, and give the methods respectively of based on simple hypothesis, complicated hypothesis and censoring SPOT method under the ground of known two class risks. The verification methods of reliability index under exponential distribution and maintainability index under logarithm normal distribution have been deduced. Finally, combined with the reliability and maintainability problem of XX missile system, the validity of above methods and the superiority of index verification method based on multi-source prior information have been proved.
