The method of 3D Parametric-modeling by APDL language is pointed out for the special head (flat head with ribs) of one heat-conductor in this paper. This work is based on a lot of references and many theories about parametric modeling, and structural optimization. Furthermore, the structural optimization for the special head is finished after a series of work including parametric setting up structure and parametric meshing, as well as parametric loading and parametric defining attribution of materials.The main research work is composed of the followings: 1) Many references was consulted, and the update research is fond out mainly focus on the simple strength analysis or the strength analysis of reformed structure, the method is pointed out that parametric modeling must be done on CAE environment firstly, then structural optimization can be worked out. 2) 3D solid geometric model and finite element model is set up, and the stress intensity (SINT) analysis and evaluation went on firstly, then, the heat-structural stress analysis is continued by coupling with temperature field, further, the influence for the strength of special head coming from mechanical loads and heat loads is studied. 3) The method for rapid implementation of parametric modeling of geometry and finite element of structure through a universal CAE software is researched, 3D solid geometry and FEM model is set up though APDL language, a series of parametric work is finished, which includes parametric structure and parametric meshing, as well as parametric loads and parametric attribution of materials. 4)The theory of design by analysis for pressure vessel was applied to classify the stress of different dangerous location on the special head. The optimization is done after the establishment of objective function, design variables and state variables, As well as optimization tactics. 5) The 3D geometry and finite element model of the special head is set up in terms of optimized structural parameters. Then, the finite element analysis for strength of optimized model is done, and the strength comparison of initial model with the optimized one is also made. 6) Graphical user interfaces, which include parametric structure interface and parametric loads interface, as well as results interface and path stress curve interface, are developed to convenient for implementing of parameterized model though the reprogram function of APDL language. The work accelerates the research and developing of a series of products.
