Diesel generator set used as normal or spare power supply is very important, especially in energy sources which is more and more lack today. It takes very important part in military affairs, shipping, voyage, submarine, nature calamity and other fields. The automatic control system of diesel generator set involves many realms which includes mechanism and sensor technique, information processing technique, computer control technique and control theory. It is the development trend for automatic control technique of diesel engine to completely digitization, automation, intelligence and network.In the design hardware of intelligent controller, the paper describes the gear speed sensor's structure and operating principles, speed control circuit's gathering and simulation analysis, the design of standby signal's warning circuit, the design of power-driven circuit, the design of warning and put off the ATS circuit and the Lonworks module. For the gathering speed signal circuit, it can get it through the frequency of the speed signal, considering the features of digital signal processing (DSP), building a simple and effective circuit. Designing the gathering standby warning signals circuit, we put up the collection precision in virtue of H- bridge circuit. It is simple and ideal. For the power-driven circuit, we use the DMOS full-bridge PWM motor driver chip A3959, and we can very simply, convenient control the electric actuator and make up a closed PID control system. For the warning and put off the ATS circuit, we used the high isolation voltage, single transistor type multi photo-transistor chip. And we guarantee the system security through some control single and hardware ways ,so it couldn't happen error warning. Adopting neuron chip that supports filed bus protocol for Lonworks module, it predigests software design of communication interfaces. In the whole design it still puts forward a handy way of interface that connects neuron chip and DSP, it offers a pattern the puts independent exploiture controller into Lonworks bus in the future.In the design of intelligent controller's software, the paper firstly introduces the overall software system flowchart, and then focus on the various functional modules' designs. In allusion to object, in the design of revs control, we used the advanced PID control strategy. Just the software design enabling the controller has real meaning and value. Through design different parts of the process, it achieves an organic combination of serial components and arrivals the advanced demand of intelligent control.On the basis of the research results above the relative hardware and software design are completed and the intelligent control of the diesel generator set has been developed, which is advanced and applied in a sense.
