Nowadays, in the process of airplane maintenance, when airplanes are towed to move on the parking apron or in the garage, they are often on the hazard of bumping with the garage wall or other barriers at the dangerous points (such as head, wings or tail) because of their bulkiness. But the maintainers have to avoid these accidents by eyes. So, a kind of device is needed, which can be fixed on the airplanes and can provide the tractor drivers with the exact distance between the dangerous points and the barriers. Furthermore, the device should alert the drivers with sounds and lights to minimize the possibility of these accidents and ensure the airplanes'safety.In this thesis, an ultrasonic anti-collision system can be used in garage or when airplanes moving on ground is introduced, which is based on Radio Frequency (RF) technology. The system also has short distance wireless communication function. The following technologies such as MCU,RF communication,ultrasonic distance measuring are integrated in the system which has the functions of real time measuring in the watch sites and real time display in the receiving facilities. The system can be applied in maintenance field of airplane garage or other places when airplanes are moving on ground. People can check the distance between the watch sites and barriers from a remote receiving facility, and will be altered by sounds and lights when the distance is in dangerous range, thereby avoid the collision to the airplanes. And the results of designed experiments demonstrated the feasibility.In this thesis, the basic theories of ultrasonic distance measuring and short distance communication are reviewed at first. And then the hardware and software design of the system's every part is introduced in turn. At last, the debugging process and the results of different circumstances are provided.
