The application of adaptive control in aircraft landing gear is an important innovation to modern airplane design. In order to possess high reliability, stability and long fatigue life during the landing and taxiing of aircraft, the design of aircraft landing gear is very important. The paper mainly discussed and analyzed aircraft landing gear using model reference adaptive control and MCS (minimal control synthesis algorithm), built up the mathematics model and linear state equations of aircraft landing gear during the landing and taxiing and analyzed the virtues of model reference adaptive and minimal control synthesis algorithm. Based on the stability and robustness of landing gear system, the adaptive control method was applied to the aircraft landing gear and the control model was acquired.Meantime, according to the control model of aircraft landing gear, the adaptive control landing gear module was simulated through Matlab.Simulation results shows that adaptive control algorithm can make the output of aircraft landing gear approach to the reference output rapidly and the control system possess of good performance of robustness. Hence, the control method is effective.MCS has been recognized and applied to many fields since MCS was first put forward. The control of aircraft landing gear is very complicated and the related research has barely begun although MCS algorithm can greatly improve the performance of aircraft landing gear if it was applied to landing gear. The author expects this paper can contribute to the design of aircraft landing gear.
