The economic operation of the unit was seriously disserved by over-temperature tube explosion of rehater. In order to solve this problem, the theoretical analysis of tube failure mechanism was studied by this thesis by the aid of Optical Microscope, and as an example the 12CrMoV steel was used to discuss the over-temperature failure mechanism. The measures that life diagnosis of reheater by the thickness-detecting technology for oxide-scale on inner-side of tube, the increase of tube temperature detecting pot and the empoldering of tube temperature detecting system were introduced. The effect of changed firing conditions on reheater tube temperature was gained by the analysis of historical operation data, and the performing of cold test and combustion adjusting experiment. So that, the feasible reconstruction project and expected effect were achieved.
