| Worm driving is a typical transmission mechanism which is applied abroad in modern machinery, the character in kinematics and dynamics of transmission is related to the reliability of transmission directly. It is very important than the application of virtual prototyping technology not only improves simulation technique's precision, but also shortens the design cycle. Based on Virtual Prototype, engineers can find underlying problems just during products design by simulating the mechanical system, and revise them quickly so as to throw off the Physical Prototype, which not only can save the cost of design and manufacturing and reduce the cycle of products development, but also can elevate products' performance and enhance products' competition.This paper take Archimedes worm driving as research object, process in dynamics simulation of worm driving based on virtual prototyping technology. It studies 3D modeling of Archimedes worm and worm wheel, discusses using CAD/CAE software such as Solidworks, ADAMS, ANSYS to modeling, assembling, sharing data, FEA, multi-rigid-body dynamics simulation and deformable-many-body dynamics simulation. It has some direction effect in practical project.The paper shows the research work and fruit as follow:1. Discuss the concept, content and utilization of virtual prototyping technology in this task. Expatiate the design worm drive based on virtual prototyping, the theory and data interface of CAD/CAE software such as Solidworks, ADAMS, ANSYS in detail. |
